Safari Reload Button

Safari Reload Button

Safari Reload Button provides a reload button for Safari that can be placed anywhere in the Safari toolbar. It is distributed as a notarized Safari App Extension.

Safari App Extensions are packaged within a container application. In the case of this Reload Button extension, the containing application does nothing, but you must launch it at least once to let Safari know that the extension exists. After the first launch, you never have to run the application again—but you do need to keep it installed because the extension lives within the application.

Safari Reload Button does not auto-update itself. You must visit this page and manually download new versions as needed (e.g., for new versions of macOS).

There are three versions of Safari Reload Button, depending on which combination of macOS and Safari you are using. The version for Safari 11 or earlier is an old-style Safari extension that is launched directly and installed into Safari. The other two are App Extensions as described above.
